The Victoria Institute Tai Chi Qigong Group was established in 2007. Tai Chi Qigong is a Far Eastern practice with a very long heritage and it is as relevant to today as it was when it was first developed many hundreds of years ago. It has martial and health applications.
The group focuses on health. The group is friendly and welcoming. It is of mixed ability as new people are always welcome to join. We are interested in managing and improving our well-being in every way, but particularly joint flexibility, lightness of breath, physical and emotional balance, energy level and feeling more in control of our lives.
We all want to feel more at ease and peaceful in ourselves. We use gentle, continuous movements of arms and legs, relating to our breath, to form a range of patterns and shapes, standing still and taking steps.
